Dog Park at Bonnie Wenk Park
This is a beautiful two-acre, fenced, off-leash park, well-lit for nighttime play. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, a shaded pavilion and human restrooms nearby. It even has a splash pad for dogs!
Although your dog can’t run off leash at other parks in McKinney, you will find that they still enjoy getting some fresh air as well as taking in new sights and smells. You can go to one near your home that you can walk to or get in your car and drive there. Keep in mind that these parks do not have accommodations for pets so you will need to bring your own supplies.
Aviator Park
This is a beautiful 10-acre park with a multipurpose court. This park includes a barrier-free play structure for children. Families can use the picnic shelter and restrooms. There is also a trail that you can take your dog on as long as you keep them on their leash!
Inspiration Park
This is a beautiful park, located right by Naomi Press elementary school. This park includes 10 acres of open land that is perfect for a family outing. This park includes a splash pad and multiple parking spaces that allow for easy access to the park.
Pet Stores in McKinney, Texas
The Canine Cookie Company
The Canine Cookie Company was founded in 2005 on the belief that dog treats should be simply delicious and made with love. After all, natural ingredients are the best ingredients. Their cookies are hand-cut and then baked with healthy ingredients and zero preservatives. Each treat is as fresh as can be! Doggie snacks aren’t all they offer, though: they even have an eclectic inventory of toys, accessories, and other dog-related items.
Dog Ownership Rules in McKinney
The City of McKinney requires all pet owners to be responsible and follow city ordinances for the health and safety of residents and pets. Failure to follow the ordinances may result in a citation or pet impoundment.
Ordinance requirements include regular vaccination and vaccination tags, as well as restrictions regarding leashes. When you live in McKinney you must restrain your pet by leash or fence. All pets, including dogs, must be confined to the owner’s property within an adequate fence. All pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet when in public places. Leaving an animal tethered or chained is an ordinance violation.
A well-trained dog is a great family member for many reasons. But in order to ensure your dog’s behavior complies with city ordinances, you need your dog to be properly trained. Dog training takes time and proper guidance from REAL professionals. Regularly receiving feedback from a trainer who is invested in you and your dog’s success makes the entire training process more efficient. Our dogs are family, so it’s vital to properly educate and communicate with them.
That’s where we can help!
Here at The Collar Club Academy, we have dog trainers who have been training in combined areas of expertise for over 60 years! We don’t believe dog training comes in a “one size fits all” format. While some dogs may have behavioral issues like aggression, other owners may need guidance on how to properly communicate loose leash walking. You want the best for your dog, and we do too! That’s why we take the time to get to know both you and your dog, so we can teach you how you and your dog can fit into one another’s lifestyle.
One of our biggest goals is to make sure that after our training process, you walk away with a better understanding of your dog and their needs. Your eyes will be opened to a whole new world and a better understanding of your dog. We are proud to offer private training sessions in addition to comprehensive board and train programs that will properly train your dog in a relatively short period of time. Professional dog training is required to address problem behaviors and encourage positive socialization. Our facility is world-class and designed to cater to your dog’s training needs in the comfort of a home environment.
The Collar Club Academy offers a personalized approach to dog and puppy training. Our trainers will make sure they’re tailoring their training so it will fit you and your dog’s communication and personalities perfectly. Whether you are a senior citizen, looking to take dog sports to the next level, or someone who wants to simply enjoy life with their dog at home, we have you covered!
